The People Republic of China is situated in eastern Asia on the western shore of the Pacific Ocean, with an area of 9.6 million square kilometers, is the third biggest country in the world. China's national currency is RMB, and HKD is the the legitimate circulating currency in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region while MOP in the Macao Special Administrative Region. And foreign trade is mainly settled by US dollar and Euro.
China owes the largest population of about 1,339,720,000(Nov.2010) in the world, 92% of whom are Han Chinese. As a multiracial country, China consists of 56 nationalities, such as the Achang nationality, the Bai nationality, the Baoan nationality,the Blang nationality, the Yughur nationality, the Yao nationality, the Tibetan nationality, the Zhuang nationality. Such a great population provides China with abundant labor force for its continuous progress.
59% of people have no religious belief , 24% are Buddhist, 14% are Christian and 3% have other beliefs. And the official language is mandarin. With the popularization of education, more and more youth have the access to college and multilingual education and English learning holds the largest part. And with the popularization of Internet, China now has about 338,000,000 netizens, ranking first in the whole world. Blogs in Chinese amounts to 107,000,000(June 2008).
